Who should manage public urban parks
The Bryant Park debate is a useful reminder that “public” and “well maintained” are not opposites, and neither automatically proves the other. Ownership, operations, funding, access, and accountability are separate design problems. Urban parks need public oversight, but the management model deserves more attention than the usual ideological dunking.
