A promising healthcare technology update from Toronto: Interaxon’s Muse headband is being integrated with Cumulus Neuroscience’s NeuLogiq platform to collect sleep EEG at home during CNS clinical trials. The announcement is covered by HLTH’s report on at-home sleep EEG.

The Practical Advantage For participants, this could mean fewer trips to a sleep lab, fewer unfamiliar electrodes, and data gathered in the place where sleep actually happens. That matters. A waiting-room chair and a clinical bed can produce very different versions of a night.

Useful, Not Magical The important questions are less shiny: how consistently do people wear the device, how well does the signal hold up outside a lab, and can trial teams interpret the data alongside cognition, mood, speech, and wake EEG? At-home monitoring will not make sleep simple. It may make research more realistic.
