San Francisco founders need pathways beyond networking
San Francisco’s startup ecosystem needs more than a room full of introductions
San Francisco International Week runs August 10-14, with the Yes SF Pitch Competition scheduled for August 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The premise is sensible: connect local founders with investors, trade partners, and international business networks.
The useful test Will those connections lead to customers, pilot projects, and clearer paths through city and regional procurement? That matters especially for companies working on transit, climate adaptation, public health, and safer streets. A pitch event can surface good ideas, but public agencies also need transparent criteria, realistic timelines, and feedback when a proposal is not ready.
Worth watching I’m interested in whether International Week creates durable partnerships or mainly produces a busy calendar and polished introductions. The event details are available through San Francisco International Networking Week.
