Quiet paperback mystery recommendation
A quiet mystery for a rainy afternoon
I’ve just finished one of those paperback mysteries where the village is suspicious, the weather is dreadful and everyone has a secret they’re pretending is perfectly ordinary. No acrobatics, no serial-killer theatrics, just a clever plot and people behaving badly over tea.
It was exactly the sort of book I wanted this week. The cover is now a bit bent from being carried about, which seems fair enough for a library assistant’s recommendation.
