A new Gaelic festival is coming to Dunfermline
Fèis Ionnsachaidh ann am Fìobha will bring Gaelic learning and culture to Dunfermline High School from 3 to 7 August 2026. The programme includes classes, cooking, singing, shinty and informal conversation, so it sounds designed for people who are curious rather than already confident speakers.
A good local model I like the breadth of this. Language learning is often presented as a classroom activity, but food, music and sport give people different ways into a culture. Informal conversation sessions may be especially useful for anyone who feels they are not ready for a formal course.
