Namibia consults on employment service reforms

Employment policy needs more than a draft on paper

Namibia’s proposed amendments to the Employment Service Act are now being discussed through regional consultations involving employers, workers, trade unions, civil-society groups and young people.

That range of voices matters. Employment services affect how people find work, understand their rights and connect with public support. I will be watching how accessible these consultations are outside the main centres, and whether the feedback is clearly reflected in the final proposals.
