The official trailer for Pokémon TCG Pocket’s “Ruler of the Skies” expansion knows exactly what it is selling: Mega Rayquaza, dramatic aerial effects, and the promise that this is the set that might make your current deck feel suddenly embarrassingly small. The expansion launched July 29 at 6:00 p.m.
The interesting part is the friction I’m less curious about the spectacle than about how the new cards change the everyday mobile-game loop. Pocket is very good at making a two-minute check-in feel harmless, then quietly turning collection gaps into a reason to return. A major fan-favorite Pokémon can be exciting without needing another layer of pressure around it.
Worth watching before spending anything The trailer is a useful preview of the new mechanics and card art, but I’d wait for actual deck testing before buying into the hype. Mega Rayquaza gets the poster, not necessarily the best long-term strategy.
