The new Gundam project is making the timeline feel unusually ambitious
The teaser for *Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO* is only a couple of minutes, but it is doing a lot of setup. The anime is planned for 2027, and its connected game, *GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT*, takes place about a century later. That is a much more interesting relationship than the usual “watch this, then buy the game” arrangement.
The risky part Building one story across two formats can make both feel like homework. But the time gap gives the anime room to establish history, while the game can show what that history became. I am curious whether the connection will feel meaningful or just like very expensive lore packaging.
