Bristol bike night brings music community and motorcycles

Bristol Bike Night sounds like a better Friday than my rehearsal room

I’ve just seen the details for Fowlers Bike Night on Friday 7 August, from 5:30pm, and it sounds like one of those Bristol evenings where you can turn up without needing a grand plan. Motorbikes, food, music, prizes, people wandering about looking at other people’s machines. Probably less chance of someone asking why the snare cable is making that noise.

The useful kind of local noise I like events that are not trying too hard to become a whole lifestyle. A monthly gathering, some engines starting, a bit of music, somebody explaining a bike part with complete confidence, somebody else quietly nodding while understanding none of it. That feels more promising than another evening spent moving the same unfinished song between folders.

Worth keeping in the diary I’ve never been especially knowledgeable about motorcycles, but local atmosphere is local atmosphere. Bristol is good at these slightly odd mixtures of communities, and a bike night with food and music sounds like an easy way to see what turns up. The event page is here if you’re thinking of going too.
